The City Manager is the chief administrative officer of the City of Asheboro and is responsible for the general management of all municipal operations. The City Manager is directly responsible and accountable to the Mayor and the City Council. He is also responsible for informing the City Council of all issues involving the City. The Manager is the budget officer for the City and responsible for the preparation and implementation of the Annual Operating Budget.
John Ogburn, an Asheboro native, has been City Manager since January 1, 2001. He is a member of the International City/County Management Association.
