Careers with the Asheboro Police Department

Challenge

As a Police Officer, you won't be just a citizen in the community,  you'll be someone special.  You will accomplish more in the first three years as a Police Officer than many people accomplish in their lives.  You'll be given the opportunity to broaden your experience, serve your neighbors and develop a new sense of pride.  The time is now, while you have the chance to take on exciting new challenges.  Find out, once and for all, what you're really made of and how to live up to your potential.  The qualities you'll develop will stay with you always.  Not everyone can meet our challenge or earn the title of  Asheboro Police Officer.

Training

The training will not end when you finish the Basic Law Enforcement Training School, but will continue throughout your career.  Upon completing the BLET School, you will be in Field Training Program for seventeen weeks, after which you can receive advanced or specialized training in areas of Traffic, Patrol, Criminal Investigations, Drugs and Narcotics, Hostage Negotiations, and many other police skills.  The courses can serve as accreditation for Advance Certification by the North Carolina Training and Standard Commission and also toward promotion possibilities.

We give you the chance to prove yourself in a career that could be more exciting and rewarding than any work you have ever done.  Your family and friends can be proud that you serve as a Police Officer.
