Sanitation
Kermit Williamson
The Sanitation Department makes collections, including curbside recycling, in residential area twice a week. Business locales are made as needed but not more than one pick-up per day. Industries provide their own pick-up service. The County's transfer station is located on the edge of the city planning jurisdiction and serves as the city's waste disposal area. To better serve the citizens the Sanitation Department has automated equipment, which provides for a more efficient sanitation collection system.

FY 2011-2012 Collection Schedule
During this Fiscal Year (July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2012) your normal trash and recycling collection day will change only once, due to the landfill being closed. Collection will occur even on dates when City Hall is closed. The ONLY day when regularly scheduled pickup will be changed due to a holiday is Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 2011. Customers who typically receive service on Thursdays should instead place trash out for pickup on Wednesday, November 23. Sanitation service will continue to run on every other holiday.
Please Call the Sanitation Department at 626-1234 ext. 2219 if you have any questions.
