On September 23, 1914, Leonard and Mullie Preston, a young Virginia couple with Asheboro ties, met with a sudden and tragic fate that ended their life together before they were able to celebrate their first wedding anniversary.  The Prestons will be the subject of the next walk through the Old Asheboro Cemetery, located on the corner of Salisbury Street and White Oak Street (Map), on Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at 10:40 a.m.

Join Asheboro Parks & Recreation and Ricky Allred on the 95th anniversary of the event that inspired our historical cemetery walks.  As usual, time will also be spent with a few other cemetery “residents."
